Walk VIII
January 19, 2013
Starting point: Halls Corner, Duxbury
Ending point: Jones River Landing, Kingston
Meal destination: Bangna Garden Thai restaurant in Kingston
Weather: Cold, windy
Distance: 4.5 miles
Helpers and special assistance: None need this time. We shuttled our cars.
General musings: It was wonderful to walk up the hill to the Standish Monument. And, along Bay Road, the views are magnificent. It was also fun to see the 'home' of the Jones River Landing.
Marilee started the walk by giving us little inspirational bags...lest we forget!
Three happy ladies starting out for another beautiful walk! We begin at Hall's Corner...
We saunter up the hill to the Myles Standish Monument
A hidden treasure along the roadside..."too keep the Indians out", really?
Sunny day and sunny outlook on life along Bay Road.
Bay Road is is a glorious feast to the senses!
Another little treasures along the way...just in case we want to reverse route and walk to Boston, we read that it's only 42 miles from this marker. LOL
.
Bay Road in it's glory.
Making our way along a path in "Bay Path Park"
This is the rock ledge at the water's edge. Kingston is straight ahead.
The other view from the rock ledge. Duxbury is behind us now.
We found this little park and kayak launch along the way in Kingston. It's part of the Bay Circuit Trail. Nice find! Never knew this existed. An out of the way place to fish, hike or launch the kayaks.
Jones River Landing, and lovely Rt. 3 in the background.
Ahhh....we make it to our destination! Bangna Garden Thai Cuisine restaurant, on Rt. 3A in Kingston.
Woo hoo! Another winter walk in the bag...
Settling in for a beer and some dumplings!
Just a snack for the hungry trekkers!
Until next time...
